Congratulations on selecting Dunecrest American School for your child’s educational journey!

Before we assess incoming students, we ask that parents complete the application form in its entirety as this gives us all the information we need to understand your individual child’s needs and support them through this exciting phase of starting at a new school.

The online application will take about 10 minutes to complete. You will be able to create your own username and password, and to save and return to the application form at a later time if necessary.

Admissions Process

Step 1 - Complete our online application form.

Step 2 -Submit the supporting documents by uploading them on the application form or emailing them to

Step 3 - For applicants with school experience, the current school must complete the Dunecrest Confidential Report and directly email it to us on prior to setting the assessment date.

Step 4 - On the assessment day, the parent/guardian must make the AED500 application/testing fee payment in cash or cheque to the accounts department before the assessment.

Documents Checklist with Application

An electronic version of the supporting documents listed below may be uploaded directly to the application form. If you do not have them at the time of application, please email them after submission to Acceptable file formats include JPG, PDF and PNG files.

The assessment date will be confirmed once the documents listed below have been reviewed by the admissions team.

• Student’s Passport

• Student’s Residency Visa*

• Student’s Emirates ID*

• Student’s Recent Report Card/Nursery Reports – for the past 2 years, in English (if already attending school/nursery)

• Recent Standardized Test Scores (e.g.: MAP, CAT4) (if applicable)

Dunecrest Confidential Report – submitted by student’s current school

*If the residency visas and Emirates IDs are not available at the time of acceptance, these documents can be submitted once they are available and must be submitted before the beginning of the school year.

Upon Acceptance Documents Required

Upon acceptance, the following documents will be required to complete your child’s admissions file:

• Student’s Birth Certificate

• Parents' Passports

• Parents' Residency Visas*

• Parent’s Emirates IDs*

• Student’s Photo (Passport Size)

• Parents’ Photo (Passport Size)

Transfer certificate -Students transferring from other Dubai schools, the transfer will take place electronically through the KHDA portal. For students transferring outside the Emirate of Dubai, the original transfer certificate must be submitted to the school. Attestations may be required.

*If the residency visas and Emirates IDs are not available at the time of acceptance, these documents can be submitted once they are available and must be submitted before the beginning of the school year.

Admissions Policies

Admissions decisions are guided by the school’s mission, philosophy, and beliefs in which the central aim is to develop students who are “caring individuals, critical thinkers, and responsible world citizens.”

Dunecrest American School will consider applicants on the basis of their ability to succeed in the school’s programs and to actively contribute to the quality of school life. In all decisions a student’s social, emotional, and educational needs and potential are at the center of the admissions assessment process.

Admissions decisions follow clearly established procedures involving staff members in admissions, school leaders, counselors, and teacher specialists. In the review process the Director’s decision is final regarding all applications for admissions.

Dunecrest admits students of any race, color, or nationality and ethnic background to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities accorded to or made available to students at the school. The enrollment or re-enrollment of students requiring English language learning (ELL) and learning support services may be limited in line with program and staffing policies as defined academic requirements.
