Literacy Week & Book Fair | March 3 -7, 2019

Literacy Week will be held March 3-7, 2019.

Beginning Sunday, there will be many rich activities happening with the classrooms and in the school, but there are a few initiatives that we would like to extend to our families. Please continue reading to learn how you can participate throughout the week.

DEAR Time- All grades will be participating in DEAR Time (Drop Everything And READ). Students, teachers, staff and parents are encouraged to DEAR. It's alway a great way relax after a long day at work, so parents, don't forget to DEAR!!

Mystery Readers- Elementary classes are hosting mystery readers to share their favorite childhood books. Please contact your child's teacher if you wish to participate. All languages are welcome.

Two Instagram campaigns, "Caught Reading" for students and families reading out and about, and "Shelfies" a collections of books you want to read. If you post these to your personal instagram please tag @dunecrestdubai and/or email them to Zeina at, If you are out and about this weekend don't forget to bring a book with you! (Please keep it safe, no daredevil reading).

Whole school community 100,000 pages challenge- As a school we will strive to collectively read 100,000 pages. Students, teachers, staff and parents are invited to help us reach our goal. ALL READING COUNTS. Reading in class, reading from homework/studying, classroom read aloud, DEAR time, bed time stories, etc. We can do this!

Book Fair- There will be a book fair set up in the lobby. Envelopes have been sent home. This weeklong event is hosted by our Librarian, Mr. Glen, and Smart Readers.

Week Without Walls | March 24-28, 2019

We are celebrating our Dunecrest International Day with an International Talent Show and Shared Lunch.

The International Talent Show will take place in our Performance Hall on Floor 2 from 1 - 2pm.

Students in KG2 - 10 will attend the event. Pre-K & KG1 students must be accompanied to the event by their parents. All parents are welcome to come along to witness some amazing talent.

For our shared international lunch, families are asked to share a dish from their home country. We will create a multi-cultural lunch that all students & families can enjoy.
